Description
Scania Clutch Release Bearing (also called a throw-out bearing) is a critical component of the clutch actuation system. It enables smooth engagement and disengagement of the clutch by transferring force from the clutch pedal (via servo and linkage) to the clutch pressure plate.
Function:
Transfers force from the clutch fork or servo to the pressure plate diaphragm springs.
Allows the rotating clutch components to engage/disengage without transmitting rotation to the clutch linkage.
Essential for smooth gear shifting and preventing clutch chatter or drag.
Key Features:
High-load bearing Built to withstand rotational force and axial pressure. Self-centering design Reduces misalignment and wear.
Sealed bearing Protects against dust, grease loss, and contamination. Sleeve and collar May include guide or housing depending on version.
Common Scania Clutch Release Bearing Part Numbers:
Scania 1863094 Release bearing for heavy-duty R/P/G-series trucks. 1876265 Common in newer Euro 6 models.
Scania 1434987 For older 3-series and 4-series.
Sachs 3151 000 540 OEM-supplied bearing (widely used by Scania). Valeo 804344 Aftermarket alternative for various Scania models.

Scania R-series, P-series, G-series, S-series. Older 3-series and 4-series. Both manual and Opticruise transmissions
When to Replace the Clutch Release Bearing:
Noise when pressing the clutch pedal (grinding or whirring). Hard clutch pedal. Jerky or sticky clutch engagement
Clutch pedal vibration. During clutch kit replacement (recommended every time)
Replacement Tip:
Always replace the clutch disc, pressure plate, and release bearing together as a full clutch kit. Check the clutch fork and guide sleeve for wear during installation. Use genuine or OEM-quality bearings to avoid premature failure.
