Description
Scania Slack Adjuster is a critical component of the air brake system on Scania trucks (and most commercial vehicles). It is used to automatically or manually adjust the clearance between the brake shoes and the brake drum, ensuring effective braking and compensating for lining wear over time.
⚙️ Function of a Slack Adjuster:
Converts linear pushrod movement from the brake chamber into rotational motion to apply the brakes.
Maintains the correct brake shoe-to-drum clearance, either manually or automatically.
Improves braking safety and performance while reducing the need for frequent manual adjustments.
🚚 Common Applications in Scania Models:
Scania P-series, G-series, R-series, T-series.
Older 3-series, 4-series, and Streamline.
